Ariosa Tested Positive in Sudamericana
CONMEBOL confirmed this evening that Defensor Sporting’s Sebastián Ariosa B sample tested positive for a controlled substance after their September 13th match against Tacuary for the Copa Sudamericana.
According to the report released today, traces of cocaine metabolites were found in his samples. This could lead to further complications as he was also called up by national team coach Oscar Washington Tabárez, but he never took part in any of the four matches played in the World Cup Qualifiers.
Ariosa, 22, could face a two-year ban from the game if his appeal is not reversed although he states that he never took any drugs.
