The Uruguayan and French football entities confirmed that they will play a friendly on November 19, 2008 in Paris. According to AUF president José Luis Corbo , the match will take place at Saint-Denis during a FIFA International date and plan to come with all their stars to the match.

The last time these two teams met was in the group stages of the 2002 World Cup. That match ended in a scoreless draw adn neither of them were able to advance tot eh next round.
