Charruas Climb Into Top 20 In FIFA Rankings
October 8th, 2008 | By: Juan | No Comments »
The Uruguayan national team jumped into the Top 20 in the FIFA/Coca Cola Rankings. Their win against Colombia and their draw against Uruguay helped them jump two spots into 20th place. La Celeste are the third-best ranked team in the CONMEBOL region after Brazil (4th) and Argentina (7th).
Uruguay will now have a tremendous opportunity to make another significant leap if they have success in the upcoming La Plata Classic against eternal rivals Argentina in Buenos Aires and after that against Bolivia in La Paz.
Spain retains the top spot in this monthly ranking for the fourth consecutive month.
