The Atletico Madrid striker was awarded the Uruguayan Legionnaire of the Year according to a poll offered by La Web Deportiva.

Former Náutico striker Alberto Acosta came in second place after his performance with the Brazilian side. The former Peñarol star scored 19 goals and finished second in the scorer table. Despite these numbers he will be playing in the Brazilian second division with recently relegated Corinthians.

Ajax star Luis Suárez completed the podium in this poll.
