Nacional Lands Boca Midfielder
Boca Juniors midfielder Nicolás Bertolo will be taking the ferry ride across the River Plate abd incorporate himself to Uruguayan giants Nacional. After not being considered by coach Carlos Ischia, the former Xeneize youth player was loaned out to the Tricolor for the next six months at no cost to the Uruguayan.
“Nacional is a big club and they are also going to be playing in Copa Libertadores, so it is going to be a great opportunity to showcase my talents,” he said upon taking his journey. For Bertolo it is a chance to show at Nacional what he wasn’t able to at Boca. “I was not given consistency, so I could not show my talent there. It isn’t an excuse, but every player needs it in order to gain experience and confidence,” said Bertolo.
Upon his arrival to Montevideo, he will undergo a physical, be introduced to the media, and then start practicing with his new team. Bertolo, 22, made his professional debut back in 2006 in the Copa Sudamericana ironically against his new team while Ricardo Lavolpe was in charge of the Xeneize.
