Rodríguez Returns To Wiped Out Peñarol
Darío Rodríguez came to an agreement with German side Schalke 04, thus opening the door to him returning to Peñarol. Today he returned to the Carboneros in an effort to end the club’s recent run of futility. But despite taking one step forward, they did lose seven bodies. Colombian internationals Arnulfo Valentierra, Leonardo Fabio Moreno, as well as Marcelo Méndez who returned to Junior (COL), Nicolás Vigneri (Cruz Azul), Sebastián Sosa (loaned to Central Español), Sebastián Galán (Montevideo Wanderers), and Gonzalo Lemes are some of the big departures from the club.
The club is currently trying to bring in players such as Fabián Estoyanoff, Ruben Olivera, Damián Frascarelli, and Sebastián Taborda for the upcoming season that would see them come in with only three forwards and five defenders with any type of first division experience in the event that the aforementioned players do not sign with the aurinegros. The one player that seems to have the greatest possibility to arrive at Los Aromos in the next few days is Olivera whose possible transfer to Genoa from Juventus fell through earlier in the week.
