November 12th, 2008 | By: Juan | No Comments »
La Celeste fell to 23rd place in the latest release of the Coca Cola FIFA Rankings. The Uruguayans were leapfrogged by Africa powers Nigeria and reigning champs Egypt.
The fall comes as a result of their loss against Argentina in Buenos Aires and their heroic draw against Bolivia in La Paz.
As far as the other South American sides, Brazil fell to its lowest-ever ranking (5th) while there is good news for Diego Maradona as the Albiceleste moved up one spot to sixth.
Ecuador made the second biggest jump of the month as they moved up 11 spots to 31st place. Peru in the meantime continues its freefall
