Uruguay Host Colombia In International Friendly
La Celestewill face one of their direct rivals for a World Cup spot in the South American qualifiers. For the past two World Cups these two teams have been fighting for that last spot in South America, although the Uruguayans came out the benefactors by the slightest of margins.
The Centenario will surely be rocking but it will also be a chance for Colombian coach Jorge Luis Pinto to look at former U-20 players Cristián Zapata, Freddy Guarín as variations in the midfield. It will also be a return to the national team for Millonarios tough guy Gerardo Bedoya.
Uruguay in the meantime appear to have most of their top side on the pitch at kickoff, except for Andrés Scotti. Do not be surprised in Oscar Washington Tabárez starts to bring on players like Palermo’s Edinson Cavani and Diego De Souza (Def. Sporting) in the second half.
Uruguay- Fabián Carini (Real Murcia-ESP), Maximiliano Pereira (Benfica-POR), Diego Lugano (Fenerbahçe-TUR), Diego Godín (Villarreal-ESP), Jorge Fucile (Porto-POR), Alvaro González (Boca Juniors-ARG), Walter Gargano (Napoli-ITA), Diego Pérez (Monaco-FRA), Diego Forlán (Atlético Madrid-ESP), Luis Suárez (Ajax-NED), Sebastián Abreu (River Plate-ARG)
Colombia-Agustín Julio (Deportes Tolima), Ruben Darío Bustos (Internacional-BRA), Luis Amaranto Perea (Atlético Madrid-ESP),Cristian Zapata (Udinese-ITA),Estiven Vélez (Altético Nacional), Freddy Guarín (St. Etienne-FRA),Gerardo Bedoya (Millonarios), Yulián Anchico (Deportes Tolima), Giovanni Hernández (Junior), Wason Rentería (Strausbourg-FRA), Radamel Falcao García (River Plate-ARG)
