Zalayeta Out For Year
Napoli striker Marcelo Zalayeta’s season came to an end this past weekend after his team went down to AS Roma 0-2 in the Eternal City. According to the primary diagnosis in Rome, the Uruguayan international will be out for “various months”. Three to six are what could take for him to recuperate.

Obviously this is a big blow for the Celeste who are currently are fading fast and have a tough road ahead of them. They will have to head to Turin to face Juventus who are in a battle of their own for the Champions League. Their early season success was completely canceled out by their recent lack of form. They are currently in 12th place, but only seven points out of a UEFA or Intertoto Cup spot. At the same time, they are eight points from the drop zone.
Ironically Zalayeta came from Juventus this past year when Napoli bought him from their eternal rivals.
